Agrippina the Younger

Germanicus's daughter, Caligula's sister, Claudius's niece and then his wife, and Nero's mother — a position at the centre of the dynasty held by nobody else. She secured her son's adoption and accession over Claudius's own child, appeared on coinage beside the emperor, and was murdered by Nero in 59 after he found her influence intolerable.
