Akhenaten

Akhenaten (born Amenhotep IV) closed traditional temples, displaced the Amun priesthood, and established Akhetaten (modern Amarna) as his new capital. His artistic revolution favoured naturalism over convention. After his death, successors including Tutankhamun reversed his reforms and restored polytheism.
