Albert Einstein

German-born theoretical physicist who developed the special and general theories of relativity, revolutionising the understanding of space, time, gravity, and energy. His 1905 paper introducing E=mc² remains one of the most famous equations in science. Einstein received the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921 and became a global symbol of scientific genius; after fleeing Nazi Germany he settled in the United States.
