Attila the Hun
Attila was King of the Huns from 434 to 453 AD and the most powerful ruler of the nomadic Hunnic Empire, which stretched from Central Asia to modern-day France. He launched devastating invasions of both the Eastern and Western Roman Empires, earning the epithet 'Scourge of God' for his destructive campaigns across Europe. He was turned back from Gaul at the Battle of the Catalaunian Plains in 451 AD and died suddenly in 453 AD, after which his empire rapidly collapsed.
