Callicrates

Callicrates was an Athenian architect of the 5th century BCE who co-designed the Parthenon on the Athenian Acropolis together with Ictinus, under the patronage of Pericles and the supervision of Phidias. He is also credited as the sole designer of the elegant small Temple of Athena Nike at the entrance to the Acropolis. His work represents the pinnacle of the Classical Doric and Ionic architectural styles.
