Chanakya

Chanakya (also known as Kautilya) orchestrated the overthrow of the Nanda dynasty and the rise of the Maurya Empire. His Arthashastra is a remarkably sophisticated manual of governance covering taxation, diplomacy, espionage, and warfare. He is often compared to Machiavelli.
