Cyrus the Younger
Cyrus the Younger was an Achaemenid Persian prince, the younger son of Darius II, who recruited an army of Greek mercenaries (the Ten Thousand) to overthrow his brother Artaxerxes II. He was killed at the Battle of Cunaxa in 401 BCE when he charged directly at his brother during the fighting, despite his Greek forces winning on their wing of the battle. His expedition is immortalized in Xenophon's Anabasis, which describes the subsequent march of the Ten Thousand Greek survivors back to the sea.
