Dinis I of Portugal
Dinis I, known as 'The Farmer King' and 'The Poet King', promoted agriculture, founded the University of Coimbra, planted the pine forests of Leiria to provide timber for the navy, made Portuguese the official state language, and signed the Treaty of Alcañices definitively fixing Portugal's borders.
