Djoser
Djoser (c. 2686–2648 BCE) was the second pharaoh of the Third Dynasty and the patron of the architect Imhotep, who designed the Step Pyramid at Saqqara — the world's first large-scale dressed stone structure. The six-tiered pyramid complex transformed Egyptian funerary architecture and established the canon of monumental royal building that would culminate in the Great Pyramid at Giza a century later.
