Domitian

Domitian maintained the frontiers, reformed the currency, and built extensively in Rome. But his demand to be addressed as 'Lord and God' and his campaigns against perceived enemies alienated the senatorial class. He was assassinated in a palace conspiracy; his memory was condemned (damnatio memoriae) by the Senate.
