Edmund Allenby
Field Marshal Edmund Allenby commanded the Egyptian Expeditionary Force from June 1917, transforming a stalled campaign into a decisive victory. He captured Jerusalem in December 1917, then routed Ottoman forces at the Battle of Megiddo (1918) in one of the most complete cavalry victories of the war, securing all of Palestine and Syria.
