Fernando I of Portugal

Fernando I, known as 'The Handsome', waged three costly wars against Castile in pursuit of the Castilian crown and signed the Treaty of Windsor with England in 1373. His controversial marriage to Leonor Teles provoked a succession crisis that culminated in the 1383–1385 revolution and the rise of the House of Avis under João I.
