Field Marshal Fedor von Bock

Fedor von Bock commanded Army Group Center during Operation Barbarossa, leading the drive toward Moscow that came within sight of the city before being halted by Soviet counterattack and the onset of winter in December 1941. He was dismissed shortly afterward for advocating retreat against Hitler's orders, and died in an Allied air attack in the final days of the war.
