Filippo Brunelleschi
Filippo Brunelleschi demonstrated mathematical single-point perspective in Florence c. 1420 and designed the dome of Florence Cathedral (1436) — the largest masonry dome ever built. His mastery of perspective and engineering defined Renaissance architecture and influenced Western art for five centuries.
