Galba
Galba was a Roman general and senator who became emperor in June 68 CE following Nero's suicide, becoming the first of the Year of the Four Emperors. His austere and autocratic rule alienated the army and Praetorian Guard with his refusal to pay the promised donatives and his harsh treatment of subordinates. He was assassinated in the Roman Forum in January 69 CE after only seven months in power, a victim of Otho's coup, his death reportedly met with indifference or celebration by the Roman populace.
