Georges Danton
Georges Danton was one of the most prominent figures of the early Revolution, a powerful orator who helped rally resistance against the foreign invasion in 1792 and played a leading role in founding the First Republic. He initially supported the Terror but later called for clemency, which brought him into fatal conflict with Robespierre. He was arrested on fabricated charges of corruption and guillotined in April 1794.
