Herodotus
Herodotus was a Greek historian from Halicarnassus often called the 'Father of History' for his systematic inquiry into the causes and events of the Greco-Persian Wars. His Histories blended factual accounts with myths, legends, and ethnographic observations about the peoples of the known world. While later scholars questioned some of his claims, his work remains an invaluable source for ancient Mediterranean and Near Eastern history.
