Huascar

Huascar (c. 1503–1532) was a Sapa Inca who became embroiled in a devastating civil war against his half-brother Atahualpa following the death of Huayna Capac in 1527. The conflict split the empire into northern (Atahualpa) and southern (Huascar) factions. Huascar was captured in 1532 and executed on Atahualpa's orders, the same year Francisco Pizarro arrived. The civil war fatally weakened the empire on the eve of the Spanish conquest.
