Jean-Baptiste Jourdan

French Revolutionary general who commanded the Army of the Sambre and Meuse at the decisive Battle of Fleurus (26 June 1794), defeating the Coalition forces of Prince Josias of Coburg and opening the Austrian Netherlands to French conquest. Later a Marshal of the Empire under Napoleon.
