John Nash

Laid out Regent Street and Regent's Park, cutting a planned route through London that separated the fashionable west from Soho — the closest Britain came to Haussmann, and done for a prince rather than a state. Also built the Royal Pavilion at Brighton, an Indian exterior over a Chinese interior, which is the Regency's taste for empire as decoration.
