Juan Manuel de Rosas
Juan Manuel de Rosas was the Federalist caudillo who ruled Buenos Aires province (1829–1852) and dominated the Argentine Confederation, championing provincial autonomy and the cattle-ranching interior against the centralising Unitarians — the federalist pole of the Pampa’s long internal conflict.
