Juvenal Habyarimana
President of Rwanda (1973–1994) and Hutu military officer who seized power in a 1973 coup; his assassination when his aircraft was shot down over Kigali airport on 6 April 1994 was used as the trigger for the genocide in which an estimated 500,000–800,000 Tutsi and moderate Hutu were murdered in approximately 100 days.
