Khafre (Chephren)
Khafre (Chephren in Greek; Chefren in Italian) was the son of Khufu and builder of the second pyramid at Giza and, most likely, the Great Sphinx. His funerary complex is better preserved than his father's, and his pyramid appears taller than Khufu's because it stands on higher ground. The Sphinx — 73 metres long and 20 metres high — is believed to bear his likeness.
