Khufu (Cheops)
Khufu (known to the Greeks as Cheops; also Cheope in Italian tradition) was the fourth-dynasty pharaoh who commissioned the Great Pyramid of Giza around 2560 BCE — the largest pyramid ever built and the only Wonder of the Ancient World still standing. Despite the monumental scale of his achievement, almost no contemporary written records of Khufu survive; the only known portrait is a tiny ivory figurine barely 7.5 centimetres tall discovered at Abydos.
