Leon Trotsky

Leon Trotsky (born Lev Davidovich Bronstein) was a Marxist revolutionary and theorist who played a leading role in the October Revolution of 1917. He served as People's Commissar for Foreign Affairs and founded and commanded the Red Army. After Lenin's death he lost a power struggle to Stalin, was expelled from the Communist Party, and was eventually assassinated in Mexico City on Stalin's orders.
