Louis XVIII of France
Louis XVIII, younger brother of the guillotined Louis XVI, was restored to the French throne twice by the Allied powers following Napoleon's defeats. He ruled under a Constitutional Charter balancing royal authority with a legislature, accepting the post-Revolutionary legal order rather than attempting full restoration of the Ancien Régime.
