Marcus Aemilius Lepidus (consul 78 BCE)
Roman consul of 78 BCE who led the first post-Sullan revolt, marching on Rome with forces recruited from dispossessed Marian veterans in Etruria. Defeated by Pompey and Catulus; died in Sardinia shortly after his forces collapsed. Not to be confused with the triumvir of the same name.
