Mark Antony

Mark Antony was a Roman general and politician who was Caesar's most trusted lieutenant and one of the three rulers of the Second Triumvirate after Caesar's assassination. His alliance and love affair with Cleopatra VII alienated him from Rome and led to conflict with his rival Octavian, culminating in his defeat at the Battle of Actium in 31 BC. He committed suicide shortly afterward, and Octavian became the undisputed master of the Roman world.
