Mary II
Elder daughter of James II who jointly ruled England with her husband William III after the Glorious Revolution, accepting the Bill of Rights that permanently limited royal power. She managed the government competently during William's absences on military campaigns in Europe and Ireland. She died of smallpox at 32 without leaving children.
