Mehmed I

Ottoman Sultan (r. 1413–1421) who reunified the sultanate after the Ottoman Interregnum (1402–1413) caused by Timur's defeat of Bayezid I at Ankara; he defeated his brothers Musa and Mustafa in succession, restored centralised Ottoman authority, and began rebuilding the empire's Balkan and Anatolian territories.
