Mursili I

Hittite Great King (c. 1620–1590 BC) who extended his grandfather Hattusili I's campaigns southward, sacking Aleppo and in a daring raid down the Euphrates sacking Babylon around 1595 BC and ending the First Babylonian Dynasty; his assassination by his brother-in-law Hantili triggered a prolonged succession crisis in the Hittite Old Kingdom.
