Nero
Nero was the fifth Roman Emperor whose reign began promisingly but descended into tyranny marked by the murder of his own mother Agrippina, persecution of Christians, and the Great Fire of Rome in 64 AD. He fancied himself an artist and performer, which scandalized the Roman aristocracy, and his extravagance and cruelty provoked the revolt that ended his reign. He was the last emperor of the Julio-Claudian dynasty and committed suicide when the Senate declared him a public enemy.
