Patrick Henry
Patrick Henry was the most electrifying orator of the revolutionary generation, whose speeches in the Virginia House of Burgesses against the Stamp Act in 1765 and his 'Give me liberty, or give me death' address in 1775 galvanized colonial resistance. As a leading Anti-Federalist he later opposed the Constitution's centralization of power, insisting on stronger protections for individual rights — a position that contributed directly to the passage of the Bill of Rights.
