Pedro I of Brazil
Pedro I declared Brazilian independence on 7 September 1822 with the famous Grito do Ipiranga and was crowned Emperor of Brazil. His autocratic tendencies led to political crisis and he abdicated the Brazilian throne in 1831 in favour of his son, returning to Europe.
