Pedro V of Portugal
Pedro V, known as 'The Hopeful', was a model constitutional monarch who modernised Portugal's infrastructure, promoted public health and education, and worked to suppress the slave trade. His promising reign was cut short by his death from typhoid fever at only 24, together with two of his brothers.
