Philip V of Spain
Philip V, grandson of Louis XIV of France, was the first Bourbon king of Spain, installed after the War of the Spanish Succession. His reign brought French administrative methods to Spain, beginning the Bourbon reforms continued by his successors. He suffered from severe depression and abdicated briefly in 1724 before returning.
