Phraates IV of Parthia

Parthian king who defeated Mark Antony's massive invasion in 36 BCE through persistent harassment and scorched-earth tactics. Later restored the standards captured at Carrhae to Augustus by diplomacy — a political face-saving exchange Augustus presented as a triumph. He murdered his own father and many brothers to secure the throne.
