Raymond Poincaré

Raymond Poincaré was President of France during the First World War, providing firm leadership and embodying national unity in the Union Sacrée. He later served as Prime Minister, ordering the occupation of the Ruhr in 1923 to force German reparations, and his financial stabilisation of the franc in 1926 earned him lasting credit.
