Retogenes of Numantia

Numantine warrior who led one of the most dramatic episodes of the Numantine War: he broke through Scipio's circumvallation with five companions and horses, rode to seek help from Celtiberian tribes, but was refused. His story, told by Appian, became a symbol of Iberian resistance. He died in the fall of Numantia.
