Rosa Luxemburg
Rosa Luxemburg was a Polish-born German socialist theorist and revolutionary. A founding member of the Spartacist League and the Communist Party of Germany, she opposed World War I and was imprisoned for anti-war agitation. She was murdered by right-wing paramilitaries during the failed Spartacist uprising of January 1919.
