Sancho I of Portugal
Sancho I, son of Afonso Henriques, is known as 'O Povoador' (The Populator) for his efforts to repopulate and develop the territories his father had conquered from the Moors. He consolidated Portuguese administrative institutions and expanded the kingdom's southern frontier.
