Sancho II of Portugal
Sancho II continued the Reconquista, capturing much of the Alentejo and Algarve regions from the Moors, but faced baronial and clerical opposition that led to his deposition by Pope Innocent IV in 1245. He was replaced by his brother Afonso III and died in exile in Toledo.
