Tarquinius Superbus
Seventh and last king of Rome (traditionally 535-509 BCE), known as 'the Proud.' He came to power by murdering Servius Tullius and ruled as a tyrant without senatorial consultation. The rape of Lucretia by his son Sextus triggered the aristocratic revolt led by Lucius Junius Brutus, ending the Roman monarchy and founding the Republic.
