Trajan

Trajan was Roman Emperor from 98 to 117 AD and is considered one of the greatest emperors in Roman history, remembered for his extensive military campaigns that brought the empire to its greatest territorial extent. He conquered Dacia and Mesopotamia, funded vast building projects including Trajan's Column and Trajan's Forum in Rome, and was known for his just administration. Later emperors were often praised with the wish that they might be 'luckier than Augustus and better than Trajan.'
