Van Morrison
Van Morrison (born 1945 in Belfast) is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter whose album Astral Weeks (1968) was recorded in the year the Troubles began and is regarded as one of the defining artistic responses to the anxieties of that era. His career spans rhythm-and-blues, soul, and Celtic mysticism, making him one of the most influential figures in the history of popular music from the island of Ireland.
