Vera Brittain
Vera Brittain was a British author and pacifist, best known for her memoir Testament of Youth (1933), an account of her experiences during World War I as a nurse on the Western Front. She lost her brother, fiancé, and close friends in the war, and dedicated her subsequent life to pacifism and feminism.
