Wernher von Braun
Wernher von Braun designed the V-2 ballistic missile — the first long-range guided missile and the first man-made object to reach space — for Nazi Germany, then led the US Saturn V programme that sent humans to the Moon. His legacy is permanently shadowed by the use of slave labour at the Mittelwerk factory.
