William IV
Third son of George III who spent much of his early life in the Royal Navy, earning the nickname 'Sailor King,' and came to the throne at 64. His reign is notable for the Reform Act of 1832, the abolition of slavery in the British Empire in 1833, and the reform of the Poor Laws in 1834. He was the last British monarch to appoint a Prime Minister against the wishes of Parliament.
