William Shockley
William Shockley co-invented the transistor at Bell Labs in 1947 with John Bardeen and Walter Brattain, winning the 1956 Nobel Prize in Physics. He later founded Shockley Semiconductor Laboratory, whose alumni founded Fairchild Semiconductor and Intel.
