Zbigniew Brzezinski

National Security Advisor to President Carter (1977-1981). A key architect of the U.S. policy to arm the Afghan mujahideen against the Soviet invasion. His book The Grand Chessboard (1997) shaped post-Cold War geopolitical thinking.
